ABOUT ALAN MELINA

Alan Melina is a Music Publisher, Music Manager and Consultant to content creators for music, film, television and the visual arts. Alan is the Founder and C.E.O. of New Heights Entertainment, LLC. 

 

“I have been blessed to have worked with some of the greatest artists, songwriters and producers over the past 50 years. While music is my passion, I have also diversified into fine art and content development for film and television. Still very active in music and still very committed to helping new, young artists and songwriters grow and succeed."

During his career arc from agent to publisher to manager, Alan has personally signed/represented David Bowie, The Cult, Dead Or Alive, Billy Bragg, Martika, Sade, Con Funk Shun, Terry Britten, Joshua Thompson, RedOne, Adam Anders, Lady Gaga and more. Alan has also consulted for and worked with the iconic fine art painter Ernie Barnes, the first American professional athlete to become a noted painter.

Alan’s clients have delivered sales in excess of 2 billion records and have enjoyed more than 200 billion streams to date. Still growing! 

Ubiquitous international smashes from the likes of Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Eminem, Kanye West, Morgan Wallen, Tyler Rich, Jennifer Lopez, Usher, Miley Cyrus, Glee Cast, Alicia Keys, Toni Braxton, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross can be credited to writers whom Alan signed/represented as well as countless television themes, film, commercials, video game, and app licenses.

 

His other achievements include dozens of client Grammy Awards, ASCAP, and BMI honors, holding the office of National President for the Association of Independent Music Publishers for four years and serving on the advisory board for UCLA’s Recording Arts and Sciences Program where he also taught courses.

In addition to leading the New Heights team, Alan also overseas the affiliated business units New Heat Music, LLC, Bump Into Genius Music, LLC, Balasana Music and The Sync Team.

Alan collected the BMI Award for Bump Into Genius Music as Publisher of the Country Song Of The Year 2020  ~ “Whiskey Glasses” performed by Morgan Wallen. Alan also co-published multiple songs on Morgan Wallen’s current album “Dangerous” which was #1 for 10 consecutive weeks on the Billboard Top 200 Pop Album Chart and was the #1 biggest selling and streaming album for the entire year 2021.

 

Most recently, Alan was gratified to see the art world recognize the value of Ernie Barnes art, when “Sugar Shack” an iconic EB painting featured on Marvin Gaye's “I Want You” album cover was sold at auction by Christie’s for US$15.3 million.
